Two currencies, never summed
AI chat has a weekly free-credit bucket and a prepaid AI Balance. They sit side by side. Free credits count up toward a weekly cap on the cheaper models. AI Balance counts down in USD and works on every catalogue model. There is no automatic fallthrough from one to the other — you pick the payer.
Top up AI Balance on Purchase → AI Balance ($1–$1000) or convert from wallet USD when that path is on. A run that stops because money ran out is different from one that hit the model’s output cap — the UI says which.
The dedicated tab is /dashboard/ai. The floating bubble is the same meter, available on every dashboard route.
The dashboard bubble
The bubble can see the page you are on and, on Accounts, filter / sort / total the list by any dotted stat path. It can also route you to another dashboard page. It cannot apply bot or module edits — that is the bot assistant / Workshop path.
Module Builder
The Workshop assistant is agentic and metered per turn on the same hold/settle path. Worst case for one request is turns × per-turn hold. The legacy grok / gpt aliases on the older bot assistant stay unmetered on purpose. Anything else must be a catalogue id or it fails closed — never a silent downgrade.
